Ive lost 80 pounds in the past but regained every pound. Im planning on having the surgery in august and have been taking a lot of vitamins (including biotin-becomes im scared of hair loss

You are absolutely right! I didn’t think of it that way! Thanks! :-) Keep posting! It’s encouraging!!

  3. Kellawanda says:

@jennabeth1128: The skin didnt bother me at first but sometimes now I feel like its getting worse…maybe my fat is like redistributing itself. But…in time Im sure it will shrink some more. And extra skin is better than an extra 100 pounds…absolutely lol. You can hide extra skin, you cant hide 100 pounds.

  4. jennabeth1128 says:

I am going to be having it in the next few weeks or so but I’m nervous about the extra skin because I don’t want to be trading one thing for another. Is it really that bad? Do u think that working out more would help it? I am 5’2 and 245… but I have a getto booty… u can have some of mine if u want… lol!

  5. Kellawanda says:

@jennabeth1128: For the first 6 months I did a lot of walking and cardio. Now not so much…Im probably more active than most people but I dont have a workout regimin or anything like that.

  6. jennabeth1128 says:

Kelly, do u workout regularly? I have not watched all of your videos so I apologize if u have already answered this.

Kelly: Let me tell you that as your bariatric surgeon, you make me feel proud!!! You are the best example of good decisions and choices patients make after bariatric surgery!

  9. 523melanie says:

  10. care9bear9 says:

Thanks for being so honest it really helps the people who are considering surgery. My surgery date is April 16th and I am going into it knowing that evenutally I will need to have plastic surgery. I think you’re doing a great job. Keep it up!

this may sound like a strange suggestion but it really works. spanx is an excellent way to redistribute fat when losing weight. they are not just for overweight people, they really are for anyone with lumps/bumps that need smoothing out. after plastic surgery most plastic surgeons will tell you to wear them to help with swelling. walmart and target carry cheaper version, also target now carries sara blakely shapewear; she is the creator of spanx. hope this helps. ;)

wow, I find it a funny coincidence… You were just talking about carbs and how you feel about them. I kind of feel the same way… but I have PCOS – and they’ve said (they, you know the ”they”) that carbs are dangerous – but I think I’d be setting myself up for failure if I was like NO….NO CARBS EVER… so just the other day I ordered the low-GI book, and you’re talking about it here. I would be interested to hear how that goes for you. I am sleeved as well. great video :-) Have a good week

Hey there! Thanks so much for posting your videos, they help me sooo much! I was just wondering if in your next video you could comment on the changes of your PCOS (I have it too). I am waiting my date for surgery and have all these questions like, will my odd hormonal crap go away. Did yours?

Hi Kelly, I have been losing an average of 4# a week since my surgery on 12/17/10. I don’t limit carbs because I can take in so little to begin with. And, I refuse to give up fruit and veggies, even if I can only have a little bit. I ate 2 small canteloupe slices today and enjoyed them thoroughly. You look great and always have interesting things to say. Thanks as always and keep posting — we need you!

  23. 315mqf says:

You are so articulate – always enjoy your videos. Were you this “together” just before you had your surgery? i am working on losing my 10% so I can get my VSG by the summer. I am trying to to behave but have not found that emotional balance to say “the answer is not in that box” No matter how well I behave – I still get caught in emotional eating.. Do you think that losing the weight (post op) has helped you get stronger? I want to know I am in the right mindset – hope this all makes sense
