yes ,
aren’t you trying to lose weight? i guess you can if you just want to get fat again
I think that is the least of your worries
your having surgery and THATS what your worried about?!
yes in moderation
my father in law had it done 2 years ago, as far as i know you will NOT be able to drink, your body has no way to absorb the alcohol it goes straight into your blood, very dangerous, if u like to dink gastric may not be for you,
In moderation you can.
Though if you were capable of moderation you wouldnt be needing gastric bypass.
You should be very careful if you do. You can get drunk faster and you stomach will absorb it quicker. Thus causing you blood alcohol level to read higher on a breathalyzer test
well, you will have to discover that after wards. some people can and some people puke immediately. you will only be able to have a tiny amount of anything in your stomach so if you want it to be alcohol, i guess you can try. i have a friend that had the surgery and didn’t follow the diet. he stretched his stomach back out and gained all the weight back. talk to your beriatric surgeon and he will be able to give you all the info.
dawn that is a very thoughtless and ignorant thing to say. if you had any idea what you were talking about you would have never said something so stupid. do some research on thyroid disorders hereditary disorders and other reasons people can be overweight at no fault to themselves.
i think you should hold off on the drinking and enjoy your skinnyness
No, not really. You can’t spare the calories. It doesn’t take much to get you drunk either
The whole point of the surgery is to get healthy.
you are not supposed to, so if you have issues drinking now, you really should take care of that before you have the surgery or you could end up with a GI bleed. my doctor has ok’ed it on rare occasion, as long as I eat something first, and I have a mixed drink about twice a year with no problem. the other problem is the calories, very high in calories, if you did drink frequently, you would not really be able to keep the weight off. Really, take care of any drinking issues before you have the surgery or you could end up with big problems, bigger than keeping the weight off
and like mustang said above me, it takes very little to get you really drunk (really, really drunk), but don’t let that be an excuse to just have a little frequently, it will still give you problems
