What is the life expectancy after Gastric Bypass?

I heard it’s only 20 yrs. So, you have the surgery, lose the weight, and die anyway? That can’t be true, can it?

It’s a lot longer than it would have been if they never had the surgery done since obesity kills people early in life. It’s different for everyone. The gastric bypass does not shorten your life span at all. As a matter of fact, it would make you live longer due to making you healthier from taking off the weight.
