My ferret has had trouble with gastric ulcers. We treated them and he was great for a while, but he was also on a sensitive stomach diet made for cats, which is nutritional unsuitable for a ferret’s needs. I switched him back onto the normal food a month ago and he is occasionally sick. The vet wants him back on the sensitive food, but it’s nowhere near enough protein and fats content. (only 11% protein) Ferrets are now banned here, so I would have to buy food online (I am outside the USA) or make it. Has anyone had experience with this before? HELP!!

Don’t feed Marshall’s. It is junk, and no better than what he’s eating.
The best high quality foods on the market in my opinion are Orijen cat, and Wellness CORE cat. But, with his stomach issues, I don’t think you should be feeding him a kibble.
At least take him a step up and start feeding him freeze dried raw food. Mine love Stella & Chewys, and there’s also Wysong Archetypal 1 which is like a kibble crumble and is awesome. This store sells them and is owned by actual people that you can talk to, and they can ship internationally if Customs will allow it.

But, the best food you could possibly feed him for his stomach issues would be a raw diet. Whole prey is awesome, but feeding a mix of different types of meat and cuts is good, too. He needs 10% organ (half of that being liver), 10% muscle meat (heart once a week- it’s a muscle meat, NOT organ!), and 80% raw meaty bones. Here’s a great site if you are interested in feeding him raw. When done right, raw is THE best diet for him and can’t be beat.
