Yeah, I had it done September of 2007, I started at 367 lbs, and got down to 148 lbs. but I’m putting weight on because I’m roughly 6 ft tall, and need to have some more weight and muscle on me. I have had many complications from the surgery though, like ulcers and hernias. But, after the complications I still wouldn’t change my decision for anything.

My husband had it done (will be three years this Aug) and had lost 175lb….he lost half his body weight. He has had no complications at all. When he had his surgery on Wednesday and got out of the hospital on Friday we went shopping, that’s how well he felt. His diabetes is gone (I know it is never gone, but no more meds) and his asthma is under control. This was the best decision he and I ever make. There are times when he wishes he had an appetitate, sometimes he doesn’t feel like eating. He is 5 ’6 and weight 350lbs before the surgery. Now he is a thin 175lb. He could actually use to gain a few back. Good luck to you.
Everyone is different, and will have a different experience with it depending on your starting weight, your level of dedication, and your health status. I had it done in October and its one of the best things I have ever done for myself. If you are sure you can follow the post-op diet and guidelines, go for it! I feel amazing, and I’ve lost almost all the weight already.
