Gastric Sleeve Gastrectomy
The Gastric Sleeve surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) is a weight loss procedure that is typically done on patients who are extremely obese and may not satisfy the conditions to have lap band surgery. The surgeon makes tiny surgical cuts and inserts a laparascopic tube which has a mini camera to see inside those incisions so a section of the stomach can be taken out. The stomach area that is left over is shut with staples. It is typically connected with a gastric bypass once the patient has gotten rid of a significant amount of weight.
