    Melanie,

I had my surgery on Monday.
Fortunately, I didn’t have the pain that you experienced. Your vidoes are so helpful and I keep going back through them to see what you experienced during the early stages.
    I’m happy to be home.
I feel alittle scared…that my goodness what have I done…
but fortunately those thoughts don’t last too long.

OMG I went back and watched your old videos! You can really tell the difference between then and now in this video. I am amazed at how well you’re doin. Congratulations! I know it takes hard work, the band is just a tool. I’m still trying to figure out this whole band thing. I only have 3.5cc’s in a 10 cc band. No restriction! Your videos are sooo helpful. Thanks! Also, FYI, as of monday, I’m finally in onederland (198).

Thank you for your documenting your journey and sharing it with others. It is real-life info that one doesn’t get from medical offices. And it is very valuable to those who are considering such a procedure.

these gas pains are a bitch girl, just hold on it’ll get better. I’m 3 days post op and have gas pains as well. every fart is like a precious moment of glory and triumph. Keep on keeping on. It’s better tonight than it was this morning. I also haven’t been able to “eat” because of the bloating and swelling. I’m starting the full liquids (like slimfast) today just cause I can tell my body is really dying for some nutrition. Keep on keeping on girl. :-)

  15. firemama1269 says:

Hang in there. You look good! Even though I know you don’t feel so great. The gas WILL exit don’t worry.

  19. thegirlwhoo says:

i know exactly what you mean, i got my surgery the same day as you and i’m now just mainly dealing with gas and leftover port pains. a little soreness. but i felt the exact same way as you, although the nurses were telling me i didn’t even seem like i’d had surgery lol.. i refused pain medicine a lot. now i’m mostly scared to eat anything. keep us updated!

  20. skymoon1982 says:

Yeah its different for everyone. Like I said in the video, there were like 8 more patients that had the same procedure and they were just fine. I was the only odd one.

  21. bandedtobebetter says:

I just watched your videos, and I was blown away with how much pain you had. I had the surgery, then my daughter had it two weeks later. We were not in that kind of pain, and she did better than me. When I talked to the doctor after her surgery. He said he burped her by pressing on the front of her belly and he could hear the gas come out. I guess he did the same with me. He said he thinks he got out all of the gas by doing this. We never even had the shoulder pain. I am so sorry for your pain!

  22. skymoon1982 says:

    Thank you!

OMG! My internet was down yesterday I couldn’t wait to get it back working to see how you were doing. I’m sorry that it didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped it would for you; but hang in there, it’s has to get better. Thanks for being so open and showing those of us who are pre-op what to possibly expect. Get Well!
