Lapband… why?
Because it is reversible. they don’t redo your plumbing as must as the gastric bypass. Open stomach surgeries also increase the risk of cancer. Ans the biggest problem with the Gastric Bypass is that it is prevents your body from absorbing nutrients. So you always need special vitamins all your life. And If you get sick, your medication may not be fully absorbed by your intestines, so you may need shots.
My advise.. go with the Lapband.. if it doesn’t work, go to the Gastric Bypass later.
I have had one 3 years ago and I am so glad I did it. The only extra pill I take is a OTC Vitamin B-complex. I have lost 100 lbs. If I eat something wrong or too fast I throw it up (it is not vomit… it is food stuck in your esophagus.. and hence called a productive burp.
their is one more new technique in which a blue jelly filled silicon ball is kept in you stomach which gives you a filler effect and you can reduce you wait and can be taken out without cutting you i feel this one is best
I had a lap band done on Jan. 23, 2007, and it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Right before Christmas, I hit 100 pounds lost. I do not exersice like I should, but the portion control is something I could never do. My husband weighs about 400 pounds and he is in the process of being approved. I love my band and would recommend the surgery to any one and everyone that has ever struggled with their weight. Heidi G
