    youre an idiot

  3. mysticradio says:

disconnecting the taste buds is not a product

  4. Neatzooky says:

That is absolutely amazing! Congratulations on that! I am also looking into Roux En Y. I thought about the banding, but for someone with a food addiction, it’s so easy to say “adjust it so I can eat more” or “just remove it.” How close are you to your goal weight or have you reached it already?

  5. Neatzooky says:

The only problem with that is that most morbidly obese people eat out of addiction. If they know your product will make food taste like sawdust, they just won’t use it before they eat.

  6. BorderAmigos says:

I think less, because you eat much less.

  7. BorderAmigos says:

Lame. Hunger has nothing to do with taste.

butchery? the idea that someone operates on a brain scares million times more then this operation…. Bad idea!

  9. bobinfiler says:

someday they will have a magic pill, watch and see,

  10. mysticradio says:

i think a much better way to save peoples lives without this butchery…. disconnect the taste bud function in the brain… or something you take to numb taste just before you eat…so if you eat chocolate or sawdust it tastes exactly the same. NOTHING… so you can eat healthy food.. cause there is no pay off , and endorphins dont dont go crazy through flavourings ………hmmm.. not bad idea

I had the Roux En Y Bypass surgery Nov 7, 2008 & have lost 120 lbs so far. I would recommend this surgery. It saved my life. My doctor told me that the lap band would not be successful for me because I was so huge. Good luck to you.

  12. vinisith says:

do you shit more now because of the bypass?

  13. saa59457 says:

I had the MGB done and has better results then this procedure, and is revisable or reversible if health issues require it.

i am looking into bariatric surgery and i thought the realize band was my choice. however i went to talk to my surgeon today (2 hrs away from home) and we both thought that the roux en y would be more convenient for me. i hate needles and the roux en y would benefit me bcuz i would not need all those band adjustments. my sister is really against me having the roux en y bcuz it is so “altering.” i don’t care, bcuz i am tired of feeling unhealthy. my bmi is 38…and i have major health issues.

You are confused or just don’t know what you’re talking about. Part of the stomach is used as shown, it is sutured or anastomosed to the jejunum. With that said that portion of the stomach is used which can only hold 15-30ml ( 1-2tbsp) and that small amount gives the patient a feeling of fullness which results in weight loss. The Patient eats small frequent meals no more than the above amount about every hour. Hope that clarifies.

The stomach produces very important hormones, some help absorb vitamins (B12) and otehr very important nutrients hence you cantt just leave it there, thats why they connect it to the distal jejunum so you dont lose em. The rest of the stomach decreases in size but keeps on secreting said substances.

what happends to the stomach, does it shrivel up and die?

  24. 99minerkc says:

I have heard that the mini gastric bypass(MGB)is less of a health risk, less painful, quicker recovery, plus more overall benefits than the Roux-en-y including costs. Any thoughts!
