Our daughter–age 42 is very ‘obese’–around 450 lbs.
How can one get help with the financial aspect of gastric or Lap Band Surgery? Please don’t suggest going abroad. If she had that kind of money, she wouldn’t need help. She’s tried everything, from Weight Watcher’s to hypnosis to liquid diets, etc. Her health is generally good–no diabetes, just moderately high blood pressure and a thyroid condition. No heart problems–all have been checked. We live in the Midwest and want to know if anyone knows of any Dr. or Clinic that would work out the financing for this type of surgery? Depression is a major concern now for the family. Thanks

I think you should check http://www.liteandhope.com. Carnie Wilson started the website to help other people after she had her surgery. They have financing info on the site.
Good luck to your daughter.
as far as i know, with my knowledge in the operating room, drs do not do such a thing. it has been a few years since i left th OR. I would consult a couple of Dr’s and see what they tell you. Call offices. They may guide you in the right direction
