Ok I’m a little lost. I was watchin Big Medicine the other night and this guy that was really over weight was going to get gastric bypass and was on a protein shake diet to lose weight before the surgery. He would drink four a day till he lost the weight. My question is, is it the same protein shake that you drink after a work out. And if all your eating all day is a shake can your body really be full and not want real food. It seemed to work for him. But still need to question it.
Would you not gain weight rather than lose the weight…

Slim Fast shakes and other ones like it generally don’t keep you full for very long…but they’re still better than starving yourself, which a lot of people do.
The protein shake probably gave him the right amount of nutrients but he most likely didn’t feel "full".
Don’t base your diet on ANYTHING you see on TV. Everything you’ve stated is nutritionally absurd, and if he was under medical supervision, grounds for a malpractice suit.
Weight loss is an industry, TV is entertainmant. Legitimate information on health and nutrition is not on the radar of either.
