Hi Thank you for talking about this issue, I know you are over a year and half post op now. (I am working through your videos: )) But I wanted to let you know that you are still helping people with your early vlogs. I am having the VSG on 22nd of July and am experiencing the same thoughts. I had a wobble the other day where I thought about not having the surgery because I had to give up my food addiction, how crazy is that, I had to remind myself that food is killing me! So Thank you again: )

I did the 2 weeks clear liquid diet. The first 2 days are the worst, take your vitamins! I didn’t take my b-1 the first day and when I took it late the second day I felt so much better!
I can recommend some protein drinks, isopure carb free is good (40 grams protein),unjury chicken flavor is good too and myoplex chocolate flavor is okay.
Don’t feel bad, I felt like I was gonna break a few times, just remember it’s worth it and you will be so proud of yourself when it’s all over.

Thank you for sharing this deeply personal vlog. I am scared too. Food has always been a close friend and now we have to learn to cope with life in other, healthier ways. Take care, God bless and Happy Holidays!

I know exactly what you mean about low carb dieting. I find it really hard to do too to I just stick to calorie counting. It’s not easy to find a good protein shake. So I just take them after I work out for muscle recovery. It’s not your fault, it’s hard to break a habit of a lifetime. Once you have the tool (wls) to help with that it should get alot easier.

Its really hard when holidays and birthdays and celebrations are mostly celebrated with food! But like you I am on this journey for a better healthy me as well as the being healthy for when we do decide to have a baby. Think of the big picture! You can do this!

Our relationship with food is so complicated. For some, its a comfort, for others a very real addiction…and unfortunately we need it to live. All those stages can be difficult, but you have to think about why you are doing the surgery and focus on how great you are going to feel later. Its so normal to be in “mourning” right now…you are saying goodbye to old habits, but those habits are getting you into trouble and keeping you from living your best life…you can do it!

I completely understand!! I feel like I can’t get a grip sometimes as well!! Take it one day at a time. Don’t think too much now about going home or the holidays. Just complete one day and then the next. You are strong and you can do this! Don’t forget to breathe!

I hope you got my video response earlier…as far as this vlog- you are right. It IS HARD! Really HARD! BUT you can do it! Maybe you should break the next 3 months down. Set some goals a few weeks at a time…Maybe it isn’t good for you to go “cold-turkey”- you are putting way too much pressure on yourself! Just take a deep breath and start again- this was just a little stumble…

You can do this, please do not give up. In order to get diff results, you have do something diff. Have you ever tried green smoothies? Or green juice, It cuts the cravings. I know you can overcome this, don’t sabotage your efforts.

You CAN do this, and you dont have to do just liquid yet, you have quite a lot of time. There are other ways! Did you download OOVOO yet? It’s FREE and we can video chat. And YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I went throught he same thing and still go through food issues. I AM A FOOD ADDICT! It’s not going to go away over night. But I can only take it one day at a time!

Give yourself some room for error. We have all been there. This is not easy and that fact. Take every moment for what it is. There are the stages of morning, and you have to allow your self time to rap your mind around it. I’m with you my B-day is a week after my surgery but cake over life. I take life. You are not alone. I understand! Thank you for posting and being honest. It will help someone else in time. You are normal. Big hug. Keep going. You can do this.

We all have those days, and we just need to pick it up the next day! Even now after surgery I have good days and bad days with eating. But mostly good days. It sounds like you were having carbohydrate withdraws and with PCOS that is common. Dont beat your self up! We have ALL been there and done the exact same thing! Sending you big hugs!
