Do you have to quit smoking to have the lap band surgery? If so, why?

My mom had gastric bypass, and she had to quit smoking. She is having a knee replacement done this month, but doesnt have to quit. Im thinking about having the lap band done, but there is nothing on the webiste stating I have to quit. I have no problem doin this, b/c I believe it is for a good cause..but I am curious to why you have to quit for this surgery but not others.

Has anyone on here had the gastric bypass surgery if so..?

How did your emotions change after the surgery?

What about your mental state towards others and yourself?

Self esteem?

Personal image?

all the feelings you had before where they still around after?

Did you change as a person?

Good or bad?

or just tell me anything that you have noticed that changed with you or in you.

Will a Gastric Bypass diet be advisable for a person who didn't have the surgery?

I am dieting and Im a veteran when it comes to working out (Ive been doing martial arts since 8, and gym workouts since 12, and Ive done high school sports for all three seasons during my sophomore-senior years of high school). And I cant help but noticed Ive "beefed" myself up, and I have a layer of fat on top of my muscle, which is very unattractive. It makes me look rather large. I want to slim myself down to model proportions, and that means I have about 30-40 lbs to work thru, give or take a few. This includes both muscle AND fat. My body is a wreck right now.

I notice people on Gastric Bypass lose an INSANE amount of weight, and I dont have the physical surgery to keep up such an intense diet, but I do have the discipline. They load up on protein supplements and vitamins to rule out the possibility of mineral deficiencies, and wait 10-15 minutes between bites, and surgeons have figured out a way to keep them healthy while bringing their BMI down considerably.

Im just wondering… Is this feasible? Will my hair start falling out or something? I work out intensively, every other day. Will I gain weight if I do this? It is a lot of protein…

Thanks.

What's a quick diet plan to lose alot of weight fast? I want the emaciated 90's Kate Moss – Scot Weilend look

I exercise, tried to burn calories, and ate healthy and less. I can’t lose weight! I can’t afford lap-band or gastric.

I don’t care if the diet method is healthy or unhealthy. I’m tired of being fat.

How can I get the emaciated crackhead look by dieting?

Thanks.
