Need to have surgery but the insurance co. wont pay?

I have been doing research on having the Gastric Band obesity surgery. I have come to the conclusion that I really want to have it done. I checked with the insurance co. and they said that they do not cover Weight Loss Surgery anymore. I have a few medical conditions that qualify me for the surgery. What should I do??? I thinking about getting a lawyer!!! Where should I begin.

it is not a must have surgery… so the insurance company doesnt have to pay it. there are tons of weight loss options out there. surgery doesnt have to be your only option

Start with your doctor – he needs to document the other medical conditions being caused by your weight.

get together what you have to argue with then call them agian and set up a meeting with 1 of their ppl that do this. then if they still deny it call a lawyer, and if u lose then just drink 2 cups of water b4 every meal and dont snack so much.

I work at a doctor’s office and most people have to go through many many loops to ge tit paid for. 1st- 6 month weight loss management program 2nd-psych eval 3rd-all kinds of ultrasounds. Ask your doctor the steps. They will know.
