My husband is a Staff Sgt in the AF and I want to enlist into the Airforce. But I had gastric bypass almost a year ago. Is there a waiver I can get? Please Help! Thanks

Gastric Bypass Surgery is a permanant DQ from ALL branches of the Military
You wouldn’t be able to intake the amount of calories and water needed to sustain you during basic training. Plus with enlistment rate being so packed waivers are few and far between. I would talk to a recruiter though.
no waiver is authorized for that surgery. and probably will not be an option for at least another 5-10 years IF they even think about considering it.
It the surgery was done for obesity control no, no waive is available. If it was something else and you are not on any type of maintenance meds or having any post surgical problems, possibly. You are just going to have to request one and see what happens.
