I read this book from cover to cover and thought I would never get a reversal no matter what.I would rather be dead than fat again and that’s what a reversal would do ,I think this person just had a bad Doctor who was in it for the fame not the person,This dr. should listen to his patients they are in the bodys that he is trying to help.I think if this dr. went in with a scope he would have found the problem.I had my bypass in May of 2006 and to date have lost 158 lbs(7.5 months later)The best thing I could have done only regret… should have done this sooner.

It’s good to hear that you are doing good now that you had the reversal. I know several friends and family members who had the surgery, some successful, but many had complications. Some even died from complications of the surgery. We need to take control of our lives with a lifestyle change. Surgery is too risky – some of the complications you will have to live with for the rest of your life. Thank you for coming forward with information the doctors will not tell you. I know your information is true because many of my friends who had the surgery had very similar things happen to them. We need to be well informed before making such a drastic decision. The end result is that you must still have healthy eating habits and some form of exercise regularly. This book was very helpful. Thank you.

I did not agree with a single thing in this book. I have had successful bariatric surgery & do not think that scaring people away from a potentially life-saving surgery is a good idea. There are alternatives to the RnY surgery that can be explored and are better for many people.

I almost died of peritonitis as a result of this surgery and wish that I had known about all the possible complications before hand. When I had mine it was difficult to find any negative comments. This book not only tells of Dani’s surgery but she covers all the various surgeries and possible complications. Very informative. Thanks Dani for sharing your story.

My wife had Vertical Banded Gastric Bypass Surgery 7 years ago. After two years she started having problems keeping food down. The problems only got worse to the point where all she could keep down was water. The insurance company was unwilling to do a reversal but was willing to pay for a Gastric Bypass of the sort described in Dani Harts book. It was her book that helped us decide not to get the bypass but rather to find a doctor who could perform a fold over button-hole of her stomach to fashion a complete working one. She is back from the Hospital and able to keep down normal food for the first time in 5 years with out throwing up. God bless you Dani Harts.
