First you dont need lots of money for gastric bypass. Look into going abroad. Second to answer your questions. Gastric bypass is one of the most intensive of all of the available weight loss surgeries. You should only take this step if you have honestly tried to lose weight every other way. A lot of people out there think that weight loss surgery is the easy way out! Yeah right! I work for a weight loss surgeon and struggled with Obesity my whole life and I can tell you that there is NOTHING easy about a weight loss surgery. You are put through a vigurous diet program that even most skinny people could not handle. It takes alot of commitment because you CAN gain weight again after surgery. There are several complications that are associated with Gastric Bypass surgery but the biggest one is leaking where the stomach leaks inside once it is sewn back up. This happens in about 6% of patients thats 6 out of 100. Other complications are very rare. My personal blog is below and I just did a posting today in fact about complications associated with gastric bypass surgery. You should check it out and get more information so you can make an informed decision. Talk to your doctor, go to seminars. My only suggestion about seminars do not have surgery with a doctor that only does one surgery. For example many doctors only do Lap Bands so they think a lap band will work for evey patient. Or some doctors only do gastric bypass etc. Make sure your doctor works with multiple weight loss surgeries so you can get a honest opinion on which one is best for you.

get off your ass, walk more, no junk food, lots of water. Cut your food portions in HALF. Practise eating slow! Enjoy your food,
you will lose weight fast at the start.
your body will stop losing weight, it has to adjust! then it will start losing weight again.
