    It has to be removed by having another surgery…but it is not supposed to be removed. Once in, it is suppose to stay in, even after you lose the weight. The only reason to have it removed would be because of complications….Check out

    They have lots of great information on lap band and RNY (gastric bypass). FYI: surgeons will not do lap band unless you BMI (body mass index) is over 40 or if it is between 35-40 and you have co-morbidities (high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea….etc)

    my sister had hers removed and the surgery almost killed her. She had it done in Mexico though. It may be safer if you had your put on and taken out in the states. It was really scary. Then when she had it take off her kidneys started to fail because her body wouldn’t let her eat or drink anything. It was HORRIBLE.
