One Response to Gastric Bypass vs. Lap Band – which is better?

My father is a doctor and does a lot of surgery repairing/removing lap bands, which break on occasion. He recommends the bypass by far.

But Lap Band’s can also be removed if you don’t like them. Get the gastric bypass and you’ve got it for life. Your stomach will stretch out to an extent over time but never to the original size.

Everyone I know who’s had the bypass has been happy with the results and don’t mind the sacrifice as they feel more healthy and alive. Many had pain in their joints when walking because they carried so much weight, that’s gone.

But I would suggest being very sure that you’re ready for it. It’s a serious commitment and something that affects your everyday life.
