I had gastric bypass November 16th. Had a normal menstraul after it. I had another menstraul December 9th thru 12th or 13th. Ive lost 40 lbs since the surgery. I have had unprotected sex the 22nd, 26th ad 30th. Never been pregnant before. I know there is always a chance when you have unprotected sex. It seems like I am extra senstive and cry about everything this pass week. When do you all think I should take a test? And any other advice is good too!

Gastric bypass does not mean you should not get pregnant. As a matter of fact, it would be a good idea to have a gastric bypass if you are morbidly obese and want children because losing the weight would make the pregnancy so much safer. The problem in your case is that the doctors recommend you not get pregnant for a year after surgery so your body can adjust, heal, and you can also be at a safer weight by then. Give it another 2-3 weeks and take the test. If you are pregnant, you can’t go back in time, but your carelessness might make your pregnancy at this time more risky. If you aren’t pregnant, then I hope you would listen to the doctors regarding pregnancy and take precautions in the future until your body is better prepared to handle the pregnancy. Good luck.
You should take a test in a couple of weeks if your period doesn’t come because my cousin had the surgery and was told that any pregnancy would be considered high risk because of the surgery. You can’t necessarily get in the nutrients for a pregnancy so you have to be watched closely plus that soon after surgery would be a risk as well. So yes test if you don’t have your period and let your Dr know if you are as soon as you know. I know my cousin had her surgery 9 months ago and has lost 100 lbs I think so far somewhere around there and they told her to use protection because it would just be to risky.
