I’m thinking of going abroad to get gastric band surgery with an agency called beautiful beings. any thoughts? there’s an option to talk to people that have already been with them. seems promising!

If they are giving you an opportunity to speak to folk who have had it done, then make sure that you actually do speak to them. It’s a fairly risky procedure and you really need to be sure that you are happy with the credentials of the clinic and surgeon that you are planning to use. All too often, folk are happy to use these clinics, alongside a wee holiday. You need to realise that this is a serious medical procedure and requires a qualified surgeon to carry out the operation.. I’m not saying that you should not go for it, just make sure that you investigate as much as you can beforehand.. Good luck.
All I can say is PLEASE research properly when it comes to surgery. Not only the clinic but the surgeon, this is so important. Find names and google them, and go to discussion forums to read first hand experiences.
I would not advise having it done abroad – there are all sorts of dodgy places overseas and you would not receive the aftercare like you would here.
I would talk to the ppl first a lot of them
I don’t know why you’re considering going abroad but if it’s to save money I’d reconsider
I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for and since that’s a major life altering surgery I would think long and hard before cutting any corners, some ppl don’t even make it through that surgery. I suggest staying home and surrounding yourself with ppl who love you for support.
Good luck to you
You need to consider what would happen if there were complications, both early and later ones when you return home. Who is going to correct these? Also, if you really need the surgery, you should be able to get it on the nhs.
