Man– this is tough-I also went in for Lap band- but was “talked out of it” because at 52- I was so old- why wait- I would have to come back for the gold standard rny after the band failed me! ugh– I also am -was healthy- no probs- but I knew at this age the knees- the joints the other stuff would probably be around soon enough- and I was tired of never being normal–I worry alot about the issues you experience– I have a bit of hypoglycemia anyway- -I was told revisions were possible…???

hi, thanks for telling me all of this, i am 3 wks out RNY, i cant keep anything but liquids down right now, mushy keeps coming back up after 2 bites and sometimes 1. so going to talk to my surgeon about that tmrw. thanks for subbing to my channel. i am 28 and had no comobidities either when i had it, mine was for health reasons, my genes are horrible and i dont want to have all those things happening just because i am obese at a young age like them and not vanity. u r great! talk to u soon!

I was told the same thing right after my gastric banding, that I’d out eat it. I did. I started to out-eat my RNY and figured I’d better to get to the root of my eating disorder. I’m working on it. It is BRAVE of you to come out and say what you’re saying considering the pro-surgery mafia/cheerleaders/surgeons etc who will find a way to blame you for your symptoms. I’ve always thought you were awesome. Just letting you know. I’m using your video on my blog today. Thanks for the bravery!!.

  5. meltingmamamelted says:

Same. I am actually looking into revising my surgery to see if it can stop some of my symptoms. :)

  17. meltingmamamelted says:

    Why is the band “half-ass”?

  18. tinkerbell1320 says:

no way, best thing I ever did for myself. !! I am finaly me. Would have never done the band for its “half ass” the band will not be forever and is major surgery when removed. I was 100 over lost it all and now I can live at 35 . I thank God everday I had it. !!

  19. nadot83 says:

No..I don’t have social problems or emotional problems at all for being a type 3 obese person..huhu

Maybe because I have a high level of self confidence and I know i’m not ugly. I have lots of friend, I’m engaged etc..

The bad side of being confident is, I have no motivation at all to lose my weight…I’m too comfortable with my life right now and my weight keep increasing..

It just that by being obese, I could not do things that I like and used to do i.e. camping, buying cloths etc..

Men seems to fare somewhat better healthwise.

  23. MrBrownstone888 says:

what about men…. i dont know what to do…

  24. CheekyThrill says:

So when you say that you had it done ONLY for reasons of “vanity” are you then saying that you had no social problems or emotional problems (depression, etc) because of your weight?

  25. Relovlee says:

WOW..this is soo informative..Im pretty much in your same predicament. I wasnt super over weight..38bmi no comorbs. But hopefully i dont have any long term issues. Already hypoglycemic and somewhat anemic so your story scared the sh** outta me but yet I love u for it because I needed to get ready for the possiblity of it happeneing to me. + I am 27
