Bureaucracy is trying to kill me!?

I have very bad gallstones, which are very very painful (worst pain of my life) and I’m also told they may be threatening to my life if left untreated.

I’m in california, and I’m on MSI (state health care). They technically approved me for surgery, but the problem is, the specialist they sent me to said I would need a surgeon who specializes in gastric bypass to have it done (because I had gastric bypass in the past.) He said that a regular surgeon could not do it, but I can’t get MSI to approve me to see a surgeon who does MSI – they denied the claim!

What can I do!? The surgery would cost over 20 thousand dollars which I could never ever pay. I can’t just wait until they get inflamed and I die! How do I get someone’s attention? Should I threaten to sue? If so, who do I threaten! Can’t anyone help me???

That sounds like they just want to delay the surgery. A lot of patients that loose weight quickly or women who have just had a baby experience gall stones. The surgery is simple. Go to a different hospital. Go to a different doc. Somebody out there knows that this is a result of quick weight loss and should help you. Pitch a fit!
