Could be the staple line bleeding internally. This is the most logical reason I can think of. I had it three years ago and no problems either, thank God. My understanding is they don't touch the colon. Just the stomach and the duodenum. Depends, of course, on what type of GBP she had. Hope she gets well soon. Of course you should be worried.
